I think it´s two years now, when I first got into a sadomasochistic specialized shop in search of spikes, studs and any other accessorize to sew in the neck of a shirt. I thought it would be the most appropriate place to find them, after exploring all the sewing materials shops in Madrid. Lost in feathers, leather belts and a great variety of fetichist items, I finally bought a necklace that mixed silver pearls and studs. However, my idea vanished when I saw a Sister Jane´s piece, that completely fixed that idea. Patricia Nicolás also represents this punk spirit in her jewellery collectios, so as Aswaad Adad who creates iconic pieces, and Marcela Mansergas and her gothic-romatic inspired dresses.
It´s exhausting how overexposed we are to this trend that appeared some years ago, quietly, adapting punk details without being too much shocking or heavy, adding any kind of rocked and gothic style in classic clothes.

Hará dos años que entré por primera vez en una tienda gótico-sado en busca de pinchos, clavos, tachuelas y calaveras, después de haber recorrido todas las tradicionales mercerías de Madrid, con el fin de coser algún detalle punk en el cuello de una rancia camisa burdeos que tenía. Finalmente compré un collar tipo perro, que alternaba perlas y pinchos, para desmontarlo y coser las piezas sueltas, pero abandoné mi proyecto de costurera frustrada cuando vi una pieza de Sister Jane que encajaba completamente con aquella idea.
El estilo punk nos persigue en todas sus versiones y adaptaciones posibles. Me pregunto que opinarán los auténticos heavy/rockers sobre tal intrusismo estético, aunque las colecciones de Patricia Nicolás, Sister Jane, Aswaad Adad, y los vestidos de inspiración gótico-romántica de Marcela Mansergas respiraban esta esencia mucho antes de convertirse en tendencia.
